How did the prayer shawl ministry begin at River of Life?

One particular member had seen how appreciated prayer shawls were at another church, and decided this would be a great benefit to River of Life as well! In the first 2 years, over 25 people have received prayer shawls that have been handmade by our knitters and crocheters or donated, and blessed during worship. Each of the homebound members on our prayer list has received one, as well as many who have had a significant loss in their family, illness or injury. Shawls have been given to co-workers, neighbors, and family members as far away as West Africa.
